It's that time of year again! Time for the annual Polar Bear Plunge to benefit Special Olympics. Several administrators, teachers and students from all over the district will make up the "Belton Pirate Plungers," including teachers from Belton High School and Mill Creek, members of the BHS football, girls swim and boys soccer teams.

The Plunge will take place at 2 p.m., Jan. 30 at Longview Lake in Lee's Summit. The Belton School District hopes to raise enough in donations to take back the title as top fund-raising school in the Kansas City area.

Every building is doing something special to raise funds for the cause, including selling hot chocolate, having hat days for students, selling popcorn and having pajama days.
