John Lennon & Me an uproarious play about life, death, power, and first boyfriends, adapted by Cherrie Bennett from her Good-Bye, Best Friend novel. Hollywood-wannabe Star, the ultimate Beatles fan, has her plans stymied by cystic fibrosis, an inherited disease that assures a young death. She spends most of her time in the hospital, where she confronts fate with imagination, surrounding herself with MTV-inspired bodyguard Flunkies and morphing her dreaded therapy nurse into a pro wrestler. Enter Courtney, Star’s new roommate, and opposite – a pretty, popular, cheerleader who’s apparently not seriously sick. Neither girl knows much about the other’s world, but slowly they come to understand each other, and ultimately themselves, in this powerful play about living life to the fullest.
John Lennon & Me is directed by Tabatha Babcock. The assistant director is Kyron Woods and the stage manager is Suzy Replogle. Members of the cast include: Lauren Gardner, as Star; Chloe Jackson, as Courtney; Skyler Ashmore, as Sally; Macy Routh, as Julie; Ryan Ethridge, as Tom & Flunky; Nate Ulmo, as Jeff; Andi Replogle, as Claudia; Krista Johnson, as “The Torturer”; Dylan Corlee, as Dr. Scott Rhodes; Emily Collins, as Nurse Janice; Colby Brock, as Lee & Flunky; Lara Ware, as Annie & Flunky; as well as Melissa Cormany, Bethany Phillips, Ahmaad Lott, and Josh Allred as Flunkies/Teenage patients.
