Representatives from Belton’s Hy-Vee visited The Belton-Ozanam Southland Cooperative Friday, Nov. 20 to present a SMART Board to the school. Store Director Brenda Slivinski and Eric Beasley, manager of perishables, made the presentation during an impromptu gathering among students and staff at the school.
The school won the SMART Board as a result of the contest conducted at the store.
The SMART Board is a large whiteboard that uses touch technology for detecting user input that are equivalent to normal PC input devices, such as mice or keyboards. A projector is used to display a computer's video output onto the whiteboard, which then acts as a huge touchscreen. The device utilizes digital writing utensils that use digital ink replacing the traditional whiteboard markers. There are also buttons that launch a popup keyboard and a right-mouse-click menu for more input options.
BOSCO Principal Sage Eaton accepted the gift on behalf of the school.
